Rare 40s vintage scarf by Wesley Simpson. Some of his textiles have hung in the Metropolitan Museum. This is the Toile de Jouy print. An etched design created in 1784 by J.P. Huet.

This type of copperplate print, known as “Toile de Jouy” illustrates the various processes used in printing fabric. Signed in the corner.

Note: There are stains present – we have taken this to a professional dry cleaners.
