Vintage Sioux Lakota Native American Pottery Seed Jar

Description

Beautiful wheel thrown pottery that is a specialty of the Sioux people. It’s created with red clay and banded with white clay from Kentucky and then each artist creates and carves out a special unique piece with symbols that represent their heritage and culture.

It comes with the small paper shown here that describes their way of creating pottery and the artists and the symbols commonly used in their work. This is signed on the bottom by the artist and is glazed on the inside.

Note: There is some white scuffs on sides – see all photos but #6 particularly for closeups. It displays beautifully regardless!
