Vintage Hammered Aluminum Shallow Bowl with Floral Designs and Fluted Edges Intaglio Dish

Description

This pretty hand forged aluminum shallow bowl was made in the USA in the 1940s by EMPC. The bottom of the serving piece is stamped “Forged Aluminum Intaglio Design By E.M.P.C.”

It measures approximately 8.5″ inches in diameter and is about 1.25″ deep. An embossed circle of poppies and leaves on the interior of the bowl are the intaglio design. Intaglio is engraved or incised work where the design is sunk into the surface of the item.

This could be repurposed and used under a houseplant.

Note: There is light oxidation, scratches and scuff marks on this bowl as evidence of its age and use.
