RARE Vintage Pair of Brass and Ivory Crescent Moon Bookends by Walter Von Nessen for Chase & Company

Description

Gorgeous set of solid brass with ivory Bakelite crescent moons with brown felted bottoms. These were designed by the renowned Walter Von Nessen for Chase & Co in the 1930s.

The bookends have a Bakelite crescent moon sitting on a brass “L” shaped piece.

Their approximate measurements are 7.75″ W x 4.75″ H x 3″ D and are marked “Chase” on the backside.

They are in original condition with a fine patina, some light oxidation and some surface scratches.

Note: The bottom tips of the moons have been chipped but you can’t really tell unless you’re looking for it.
