Description
Here is a beautiful vintage Italian Florentine The Lords Prayer in the shape of a book with a hinged folding design.
“Florentine” is made of gold gilt over gesso on wood, and on the interior there is a decoupage style image of “The Infant Samuel”.
On the interior left is The Lords Prayer:
Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
The exterior design shows diamond shaped, floral carvings with scroll work in gold and white with turquoise blue accents. Circa 1940s-1950s.
Note: There are a few dings to the wood edges and some loss of picture on inside – normal wear and use for an item if this age.
