Antique Victorian Venetian Papier-mâché Clip on Sconce Covers Set of 2

Description

Pair of two 5” antique papier-mâché light shades with two different painted scenes of Victorian style/dressed ladies and gentlemen – that clip onto sconces. They were used to shield and diffuse direct light. Trimmed in what was likely gold ribbon/braid on the edges of sconce cover.

There’s a sweet handwritten note on the back of one of the sconces that directs the user to use this as a clip on for a sconce – they once belonged to Miss Irene.

Note: One has a fold that’s cracked the paper in the upper left corner of the shade, please see photos #1, 3, and 4. These are sold “as found”.
